New: Kingsmill House Lounge Reopens!

Residents celebrated the reopening of the refurbished community lounge.

As part of the wider estate improvement programme, the well-used space has been given a fresh look and is now officially open for residents to enjoy.

The lounge provides a place to catch up with friends, take part in activities, and build stronger community connections. We look forward to the lounge becoming a vibrant hub, where everyone feels welcome.

Seniors lunches

Each month, Clarion staff, working with local partners SMART, provide a hot meal for residents aged over 55 on the estate. This is always well attended and a good opportunity for neighbours to catch up with one another. This is funded by the construction contractor Durkan’s social value funding.

Sutton Memories Exhibition
Over 100 years of living

Sutton Memories, is a photo history project on residents living in one of the earliest examples of purpose-built social housing in Britain. An exhibition of stylish portraits and residents' stories was held at Saatchi Gallery in January 2024.

Activities and outings

Every year, residents are invited on a social outing, such as a trip to the seaside or trip to the pantomime. There are also events through the year held in the ‘sunken garden’ on the estate. These have included outdoor cinema screenings, Halloween parties, jubilee and coronation events. These events are also funded by Durkan.
